Scholarship Program Description:
During December of each year, the North Texas Chapter of ASIS International, in conjunction with the ASIS International Foundation, awards a $1000 scholarship for academic excellence to a student enrolled in a security-related field of study at an accredited college or university in northern Texas. (The most recent scholarship recipient's essay is posted on this web page). The recipient's essay is published in the January issue of the chapter's electronic newsletter, "The Spur". The recipient of this scholarship is also nominated by the Chapter to compete for an additional $500 Region VI Presidential Scholarship.

Qualifications For Eligibility:
Candidates must be full-time students, or part-time students working in the security field.
A candidate’s major must be in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related discipline. The student must have already completed a minimum of one year at an accredited North Texas college or university.
Candidates must have achieved a minimum academic grade point
of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
An Application Packet Must Include All Of The Following:

A sealed certified student grade transcript.
A letter of recommendation from a faculty member of the college or university where the student is currently enrolled.
An original essay of 1,000 or more words on a topic relating to the security filed.

Scholarship Program Description:
During March and November of each year, the ASIS Foundation funds two Timothy J. Walsh APC-I Scholarship Awards which will pay the tuition, transportation, and hotel (room and tax only) costs for an ASIS member to attend the ASIS "Assets Protection Course (APC) I : Concepts and Methods". The scholarship is given for the two APC I programs which are offered each year during these months. APC I is one of ASIS's most popular training courses and introduces security professionals to the basics of asset protection. Each chapter is allowed to nominate one ASIS member to participate in a random scholarship drawing conducted in February and October by the ASIS Foundation staff. Hotel and travel arrangements must be made through the ASIS travel agent. Air travel will be coach class.
Qualifications For Eligibility:
Candidate must currently be ASIS International
member in good standing.
Candidate must currently be a member in good
standing with the ASIS North Texas Chapter and have participated in chapter
activities for at least one year.
Candidate must not have previously attended an APC I course.

Scholarship Program Description:
The Allan J. Cross Award pays the registration fees for 30 ASIS members to attend an ASIS certification review course of their choice. Cross Award winners select a certification review course from the ASIS Professional Development Calendar. Awardees may choose a CPP, PCI, or PSP review course either in the classroom or online. Each chapter may submit one application, signed by the chapter chair. Chapter chairs must fax completed applications to 703-706-3706 no earlier than 12:00 am EST on January 1 each year. Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, until all 30 awards have been distributed.

Recipient must currently be an ASIS International member in good standing.
Recipient must currently be a member of the ASIS North Texas Chapter and have participated in chapter activities for at least one year.
Recipient must not have previously received this award.

The North Texas Chapter Dennis A. Noggle Leadership Endowment Grant
Making Funds Available for Professional Development
The North Texas Chapter established the North Texas Chapter Dennis A. Noggle Leadership Endowment in 1994 to support the ASIS Foundation and to provide educational benefits to members of the North Texas Chapter.
Each year the endowment makes funds available to be used for educational endeavors (such as Asset Protection Courses, CPP Review, ASIS specialized workshops, etc.) for North Texas Chapter members who wish financial assistance in continuing their professional development.
The fund is not available for higher education scholarships since these are awarded through the ASIS Foundation.
Qualifications for grant recipients:
ASIS Member
North Texas Chapter Member for past three years
Have not received funds from this grant in the past five years
Members of the Dennis A. Noggle Leadership Endowment Grant Administration Committee are not eligible for award consideration.
What the grant covers
Only ASIS sponsored or co-sponsored educational programs
Grant restrictions
Submit this form prior to November 1st
Funds must be used within twelve months of the grant’s approval
Funds are used for educational program tuition (travel and lodging expenses may be included with prior approval)
Cannot be used for ASIS National Seminar & Exhibits registration of expenses
After the grant is approved the recipient will receive the funds as a reimbursement after successful completion of the training and upon the submission of the proper documentation that the funds were used in accordance with the endowment’s guidelines
