46th ANNUAL LAW ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION NIGHT (LEAN): Friday, May 14, 2010
LEAN Committee Co-Chairs: Steve Castor, CPP | Martin Cramer, CPP
Wow, can you believe LEAN 2010 is less than four months away. First we have to thank everyone for their support in making the
U.S. Security Associates LEAN 2009 such a successful event. Thanks to the generosity of all our sponsors we were able to make a donation to Assist the Officer (ATO) for $7,000. Also, thanks to Jim Delamore and Frito-Lay for printing the tickets again this year.
What is LEAN? Forty-six years ago the North Texas Chapter of ASIS International started an annual event to show appreciation to area law enforcement for their support. What started simply as BBQ and Beer has grown to what it is today, BBQ and Beer. Door prizes were added at some point and the drawings have grown to be a major feature of the event. In the spirit of appreciating law enforcement the Executive Board has once again chosen to support the
Assist the Officer Foundation (ATO) with proceeds from LEAN 2010. ATO provides financial assistance to officers who are facing the loss of income due to a serious injury, life-threatening illness or other catastrophic event.
New this year will be an award from NTX ASIS honoring our local law enforcement.
Hosting Old Home Week for the Law Enforcement Community of North Texas is one of our biggest events and the NTX ASIS LEAN is the largest LEAN event in all of the Chapters of ASIS International. This is an achievement we can be proud of and one we want to uphold. The great thing
is ... we don’t sell tickets to law enforcement. The only way they get to attend the event is by the generosity of our sponsors and when you buy them tickets. We get calls every year from law enforcement folks looking for a ticket,
so please by a couple extra and donate. We have also added several sponsorship options this year, so take a look at the
sponsorship levels now and select a package. Of course, if you still just want to give cash that’s always welcome too.
Martin has become the Official Chapter Beggar and will be sending out letters and making personal visits to companies. If you don’t get a letter or visit, call him and ask for one, or just let him know how you want to support LEAN 2010! You can also contact any member of the LEAN Committee, or
Chapter Executive Board. The tickets will be printed in the next few weeks. You can get tickets from Martin, Steve, Wally, or any member of our Executive Board.
Tickets will not be sold at the door.
The location will be the same as last year, Eddie Deen’s Ranch. It is located on the northeast corner of Lamar and I-30, just south and in the shadow of the Dallas Convention Center. Eddie Deen is a big supporter of the community and North Texas Law Enforcement. Dress Code is
boots and blue jeans. We will have a pickup load of door prizes and all the BBQ and
beer/wine you want. Help the North Texas Chapter continue to have the largest Law Enforcement Appreciation Night in the
society.
