Welcome to Chapter 10, North Texas, of ASIS International, the largest organization advancing the security profession worldwide
I want to thank everyone who attended our TopGolf outing in September. A good time was had by all in attendance. A round of applause to Alex Smith for coordinating this effort.
In October, we had our first annual “Women in Security” Gala at City Place. We had wonderful speakers who shared some enlightening and interesting revelations about their careers. In addition, they provided positive inspiration and direction for women seeking to achieve a successful career in security. I want to extend special thanks to Grace Sanders and her committee for coordinating this very successful event.
As I write this letter, we are in the process of electing board members for 2016. As a reminder, this year we are utilizing an electronic ballot voting process. Voting started on November 1 and will end on November 15. Please take the time to participate in this process. The newly elected board members will be announced at the November membership meeting. At this time I would like to thank Charles Baxter and his committee for conducting the balloting process.
The final meeting for this year will be on November 19, 2015 at Deloitte in Dallas. The meeting location will be at Chase Towers which is located at 2200 Ross Avenue, Suite 1600, Dallas, Texas. Our speaker will be Jeff McKissack, President of Defense By Design. His topic will be “Reducing Security Concerns in the Workplace.” Seating is limited at this location to 40 participants. Please register online as soon as possible. The cost is $10.00 and a Certificate for one hour of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) training will be offered to those in attendance.
As a reminder, if you are currently looking for employment opportunities, be sure to check our chapter website’s job section. Also, if you are an employer who is looking to fill positions at your company, please pass this information along with job description/qualification to Charles Baxter at Charles.firstname.lastname@example.org for posting.
In closing, I would like to say it was a pleasure serving as your Chapter Chairman for 2015. I want to thank my fellow board members; Martin Cramer, Wally Cornwell and Grace Sanders for all the support they have given me during this past year. I want to also thank all our members who attended our monthly meetings and supported our various chapter events. Finally, I want to extend my best wishes and success to the newly elected 2016 board members.
