I want to thank everyone who attended our chapter‘s January social event held at the Magnolia Hotel. It was a nice way to start the New Year. We had a good turn out and it afforded those in attendance the opportunity to network with fellow chapter members.

As I said in my prior message, the theme for 2015 is “It’s about our members.” Our goal will be to help enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of our own chapter members in the security field. We are currently in the process of developing training seminars for chapters members interested in obtaining ASIS certifications (CPP, PCI, and PSP). Chapter member Jason Porter, CPP has graciously agreed to coordinate this effort. Therefore, our first step is to identify members who wish to participate in these seminars. If you are interested or know of someone who may be interested please email your name and/or their name along with contact information to me at afmigliaccio@aol.com or Jason Porter at Jason.porter@pinkerton.com.

As a reminder, if you are currently looking for employment opportunities, be sure to check our chapter website’s job section. Former Chapter Chairman Charles Baxter has graciously agreed to provide updated information on employment opportunities for the website. Also, if you are an employer who is looking to fill positions at your company, please pass this information along
with job description/qualification to Charlie at Charles.baxter@yahoo.com for posting

Our next chapter meeting will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11:30am at the City Club, 901 Main Street, Dallas, TX. Our speaker will be Kevin Oden-Dallas Office of Emergency Management (OEM). The cost will be $10 if you register in advance online. The cost at the door is $25. CPE credit forms will be issued at this luncheon. Please make arrangements to attend and bring a friend.

Finally, I want to extend on behalf of the Chapter’s Board of Directors congregations to Chapter member Jim Kuykendall who is the recipient of the 2015 Allan J. Cross Award. This award pays the cost for Jim to take a computer-based certification review course for an ASIS International
certification (CPP, PCI or PSP).

Remember “it’s about our members.”

Kind regards,

Tony Migliaccio
2015 Chairman
